Sometimes you want to send people to a specific page in a website, rather than to the optin page or the sales page. In this rare case you need to “construct” a URL using the u parameter provided by 1ShoppingCart.

For this process you will use your basics URL, not one of the custom URLs from a specific site. Your basic URL looks like this:

http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/aftrack.asp?AFID=28673 (this is not your # – use yours)

now add the u parameter to it, along with the URL of the destination URL. So to send your traffic to a free video on creating a simple business plan, you first grab the URL of the page where you want them to land:

http://www.organizeyouronlinebusiness.com/business_plan/

Now you put the &u= in front of the URL – without the http://

&u=www.organizeyouronlinebusiness.com/business_plan/

Now tack all of that onto your basic affiliate link.So the full URL would look like this:

http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/aftrack.asp?AFID=28673&u=www.organizeyouronlinebusiness.com/business_plan/

Note that in an email this will wrap – so many people will not be able to click on it. You definitely want to use a redirect or cloaked page if you create these long URLs.
This same technique works if you find a TechTamers product that we haven’t yet created a custom URL for. For example, if you wanted to send someone to your affiliate link for the Online Success Explained, your link would be

http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/aftrack.asp?AFID=28673&u=www.OnlineSuccessExplained.com

Your Affiliate Link

When you sign up for the TechTamers’ affiliate program, you will receive an email with your basic affiliate link in it. It should look something like:

http://www.techtamers.com/cmd.php?af=21794

Those last digits are the “important” part of your link. They ensure you are unique in our program.

This link will take them to the “default” location that we have set inside the affiliate program.

The default location is the InternetMarketingQuickStart.com – a free report that sends them to a lot of our products. Since they use your affiliate link to get the free report, you will get credit for anything they buy from that report.

But you probably have some specific ideas of where you want to send them. So we’ve designed another way for you to send them to the product of your choice.

How To Send Them To A Specific Product

We have designed a system that lets you choose the product you want to send your readers to – with a short link that will fit into an email.

So take that number from your affiliate link and put it into the top of the product page on this site. Then click the button!

You’ll see the list of products currently using our new system – and your affiliate link will be right there for each product!

In fact, you’ll see your affiliate link, the site where you’re sending them – and the affiliate toolbox link.

You can just copy your affiliate link – or you can visit the toolbox to get specific tools to market that product.

What About The Affiliate Center?

If you’re a member of any other affiliate program that uses the 1ShoppingCart affiliate program, then you may be familiar with the affiliate center. It’s where you end up when you click on the Login above.

While we used that initially, we started with our new system when we exceeded our first 30 products. It just proved to be unweildy for even me to find the tools and links – and I’m the Technology Tamer!

So we only use it for checking your statistics as an affiliate – and we’ve started moving all of our affiliate links and tools to individual sites.

If you’re used to using an Affiliate Center like this, you can look for tools there – just know what all of our newer products have their individual links and toolboxes.

Rather than your having to start from scratch, I’ve provided some PPC ads ready for your use in the affiliate toolboxes for many of the TechTamers’ products.

For example, take a look at the toolbox for http://GetItDoneWeekend.com/toolbox

You can copy and paste that PPC ad directly into your advertising account – or modify it. Using that ad, you’ll be sending traffic directly from your ad to the product site.

And you can see the effectiveness of your ad by checking your affiliate stats at

Just look for that product and see how many people have visited the site – and how many have purchased as a result of your ad.

In each product’s toolbox, I’ve tried to provide a variety of tools you can use – from banners to emails to articles to just plain links.

I think that articles and emails are the easiest way to start promoting an affiliate product, so I recommend you start there.

1. Choose an article you want to use.

2. Post that article on your blog.

3. Publish the article in your newsletter.

All you have to do is copy and paste the article – and it’s ready to use with your affiliate code already in it!

But what if you don’t own that product, but still want to recommend it?

That’s the ideal time to pick up an article from the Toolbox URL above. You can send the article in your newsletter or post it on your blog.

Or if you prefer you can talk about another aspect of the product. Looking at the sales letter you might talk about the features of the product or some of the results other people have gotten with it (you can use their testimonial in your blog or article when talking about the product.)

Overall, talking directly about ONE product is the best way to get started with marketing the excellent TechTamers’ products.
